Arm Triangle

Arm Triangle – Grappling Technique

This page provides details for the technique known as the Arm Triangle. This submission technique is used in grappling martial arts styles such as Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. An arm triangle is a blood or carotid choke. In this choke, the opponent’s arm strangles one side and your arm strangles the other. Your arm must be under the chin. For this technique, a gable grip is often used.

All grappling and submission techniques are potentially dangerous and should only be practiced under the supervision of a trained martial arts instructor. For more techniques, please visit Black Belt Wiki’s main Grappling & Submission Techniques section.
