How To Do Burpees

Burpees are a great martial arts conditioning exercise because they work every area of the body (i.e. legs, core, upper body, etc.). These videos will show how to do burpees to improve your martial arts conditioning. Burpees are similar to a squat thrust but have a jump at the end of the exercise.

For additional stretches and exercises, please visit the main Martial Arts Warm-Up Exercises, Stretching, Conditioning and Strength Training sections.

Wiki Updates & News

  • 03/31/15 - Often in martial arts training, an instructor will tell you in a foreign language where to strike a target (i.e. an opponent's leg) or where to defend (i.e. your groin). Therefore, we are adding pages such as Taekwondo - Names of Body Parts (Korean terms), Karate - Names of Body Parts (Japanese terms), etc. These pages also have videos to help you pronounce these body parts.
  • 03/30/15 - Our thanks to Andy and Nathan!! Andy has been doing some great work on Kobudo weapons such as Nunchaku and Kama. Nathan has started a section on Wado-Ryu Bunkai and added material to a number of sections (i.e. Punches & Hand Strikes).
  • 03/23/15 - One of our sponsors, Fight Gear 4U, is offering a special discount to our wiki readers. You can get a 15% discount on items sold on their website if you use the code “blackbelt”. Fight Gear 4U sells great martial arts products such as BJJ Gis, MMA gloves, Muay Thai shorts, sparring gear, Thai pads & much more.
