Calf Stretches for Martial Arts Students

Here are a variety of calf stretches used by martial arts students. Given the kicking and rapid movement involved in most martial arts, you need to stretch your calves in order to avoid injuries such as a torn calf muscle.

All stretches should be supervised by a trained martial arts instructor in order to ensure the proper technique is utilized. For additional martial arts stretches targeting other areas of the body, please visit the main Martial Arts Stretches page.
