How To Do A Martial Arts Elbow Strike - Videos & Instructions
This page will teach you how to do a martial arts elbow strike. Elbow strikes are useful for close-in fighting and generate a lot of damage given the dense bone of the elbow (versus the smaller bones used in a punch). This technique is used for self-defense, sparring matches (i.e. Muay Thai fights), etc.
With this type of strike, you hit an opponent with the "sharp" tip of your elbow versus your forearm. An elbow strike can be thrown from the side, downward vertically, upward vertically, to the rear, etc.
For more information on elbow strikes (i.e. spinning elbow strike), please visit the main Elbow Strikes section.
