Foam Bo - Martial Arts Training Equipment

A foam Bo is a martial arts training tool used to practice staff techniques. It is a foam version of the traditional wooden Bo used in many Japanese martial arts. A foam Bo usually consists of a plastic core covered by foam padding. The foam Bo allows martial arts students to practice two person staff techniques and reduce the chance of breaking their sparring partner's fingers. However, a foam Bo is more flexible that a stiff wooden Bo and can break more easily if it hits a hard surface.
