Han Mu Do – Korean Martial Arts Style
Han Mu Do (or Hanmudo) is a Korean martial arts style. This martial arts is seen as a “smoother” and more “open hand” cousin to Hapkido. Hanmudo students also train with weapons.
Main Elements of Han Mu Do
According to the Han Mu Do Association Singapore, Han Mu Do consists of the following main elements:
- Mental and Physical Conditioning (Ki Training)
- Techniques of Hand Strikes and Kicking
- Techniques of Head Butting
- Techniques of Attacking Pressure Points and Cavity Press
- Techniques of Joint Locks and Bone Separation
- Techniques of Choking
- Techniques of Throwing
- Techniques of Grappling and Ground Fighting
- Techniques of Korean Tai Chi (Han Tae Keuk)
- Techniques of Korean Weapons
Han Mu Do Weapons Training
According to The European Hanmudo Association, Han Mu Do weapon training focuses on Korean archery (Kooong Sul), sword (Kum Sul) and long & short staffs (Bong Sul).
