Instructions for the Lying Knee Rollover Stretch - Martial Arts Stretching Technique

This page provides details for the Lying Knee Rollover Stretch. This martial arts stretch focuses on your lower back and obliques. It will help loosen any tight core muscles and prepare you for any exercises involving twisting (i.e. grappling, spinning kicks, etc.).

In this stretch, you will lie on the ground with your legs together. Your knees will be raised up with your feet on the ground. Your arms should be out to the side. You will stretch by slowly rotating your knees and legs from one side of your body to the other. Try to keep your back flat on the ground during this stretch.

All stretches should be supervised by a trained martial arts instructor in order to ensure the proper technique is utilized.
