Instructions for Seated Toe Touches - Hamstring Stretch

This page provides details for the Seated Toe Touches (or Sitting Toe Touches). This stretch is used by martial arts students in order to loosen their hamstrings because a hamstring strain is a common martial arts injury. This stretch also works the glutes and back. The Yoga version of this stretch is known as the Seated Forward Bend Stretch.

All stretches should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized. For additional martial arts stretches targeting other areas of the body, please visit the main Martial Arts Stretches page.
