Learn about the Shaolin Spade - Traditional Chinese Martial Arts Weapons
The Shaolin Spade is a traditional weapon used by Chinese martial arts (including Shaolin Kung Fu). This weapon is also known as a Shaolin Monk Spade or Monk Spade. In Chinese, it is known as Yue Ya Chan and Chan Zhang. The Shaolin Spade has been used in many classic Chinese martial arts movies.
This pole-type weapon consists of a sharp metal "spade" on one end and a metal crescent on the other end. The Shaolin Spade is typically 6-7 feet in length.
