Shindo Jinen-Ryu - Japanese Martial Arts Style

Shindo Jinen-Ryu is a Japanese martial arts that combines elements of Karate, Aikido & Jujutsu. It focuses on strikes, kicks, grappling and Kobudo (weapons training).

According to JKR International, "Modern training in Shindo Jinen Ryu karate-do incorporates elements of karate, aikido, jujitsu, and kendo in the formal curriculum, with an emphasis on philosophy and education. The curriculum also emphasizes Zanshin (the ability of an exponent to gain dominance over an opponent through an alert state of mind) and the maintenance of proper physical posture".

Shindo Jinen-Ryu uses a wide variety of kata from Shotokan Karate, Shito-Ryu, etc. However, it has also developed a number of its own unique kata. For information on these katas, you should visit Black Belt Wiki's section on Shindo Jinen-Ryu Katas. This martial arts also uses a wide variety of weapon-based kata such as Kumibo Shodan (a Bo kata). See video below.
