Instructions for Shito-Ryu Kata - Kihon Kata Go

This page will help you to learn Shito-Ryu Karate Kata - Kihon Kata Go. For additional Shito-Ryu Karate katas, please visit the main Shito-Ryu Karate Katas page.

If you have a question regarding a particular movement, please check with your instructor as katas can vary between different Shito-Ryu schools and organizations. These kihon katas are in accordance with the USANKF (USA National Karate-do Federation) which is in turn heavily influenced by Hayashi-Ha Shito-Ryu.   • Musubi Dachi (ready stance)
  • Heiko Dachi (parallel stance)
  • Turning 90 degrees left, left foot forward zenkutsu dachi (front stance), shuto uke (knife hand block)
  • Right side Mae Geri (front kick), landing right foot forward zenkutsu dachi (front stance), oizuki (lunge punch)
  • Turning 180 degrees right, right foot forward zenkutsu dachi (front stance), shuto uke (knife hand block)
  • Left side Mae Geri (front kick), landing left foot forward zenkutsu dachi (front stance), oizuki (lunge punch)
  • Turning 90 degrees left, left foot forward zenkutsu dachi (front stance), shuto uke (knife hand block)
  • Right side Mae Geri (front kick), landing right foot forward zenkutsu dachi (front stance), oizuki (lunge punch)
  • Left side Mae Geri (front kick), landing left foot forward zenkutsu dachi (front stance), oizuki (lunge punch)
