Seven Samurai – One of the Best Martial Arts Movies

Seven Samurai is a highly rated 1954 Japanese martial arts movie. This film is considered one of the best martial arts movies ever made. The plot revolves around a poor village that hires seven samurai to defend them against hundreds of bandits. Seven Samurai features the well-known Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune (who starred in numerous highly-rated samurai movies) and was directed by the legendary Akira Kurosawa.

This samurai movie receives a perfect rating of 100% from Rotten Tomatoes, the movie review website. According to Rotten Tomatoes, “Arguably Akira Kurosawa’s masterpiece, The Seven Samurai is an epic adventure classic with an engrossing story, memorable characters, and stunning action sequences that make it one of the most influential films ever made.”
