Taketaba - Karate Training Tool for Spear Hand Strikes, etc.
Taketaba is a loose bundle of bamboo used for practicing spear hand strikes (Nukite), etc. It is designed to toughen your fingertips. This piece of equipment is primarily used by traditional Karate schools.
This training is often considered one of the “supplemental exercises” (Hojo Undo) used by Japanese martial arts for strength and conditioning. For information on other traditional training gear, please visit the Martial Arts Training Equipment section.
