The Last Samurai - Martial Arts Movie

The Last Samurai is a 2003 martial arts film which stars Tom Cruise as a former American military officer in the late 1800s who embraces the life of a samurai. According to Wikipedia, "The film's plot was based on the 1877 Satsuma Rebellion led by Saigō Takamori, and the westernization of Japan by foreign powers". Watch the video below to learn more about the French military officer (Jules Brunet) & his actions in Japan that inspired this movie,
