Instructions for the Towel Foot Stretch

This page provides details for the stretch known as the Towel Foot Stretch. This stretch focuses on your foot, achilles, calf muscles and hamstrings. It is designed for martial artists who are having a hard time reaching their toes while seated. This stretch is also often used as a plantar fasciitis stretch. For those martial artists who can reach their toes, you can try the Seated Toe Touches stretch.

All stretches should be supervised by a trained instructor in order to prevent injuries and to ensure the proper technique is utilized. For additional stretches targeting other areas of the body (i.e. hamstrings), please visit the main Martial Arts Stretches page.
