Wado-Ryu Idori No Kata - Kneeling Kata

This page provides details on Idori No Kata. This is a paired kata used in Wado-Ryu Karate. The Idori No Kata focus on kneeling techniques (Idori) and uses an attacker and a defender. This kata was designed to teach students how to defend themselves when in a traditional Japanese seated (kneeling) position. Kneeling or seated positions are often called either Idori or Seiza (i.e. Seiza Waza) in Japanese martial arts.
