Wing Chun Form – Luk Dim Boon Gwun

Wing Chun Form – Luk Dim Boon Gwun (Luk Dim Boon Kwun)

Luk Dim Boon Gwun (or 6 1/2 Point Pole) is a weapons form taught in Wing Chun. This Wing Chun form is also known as Luk Dim Boon Kwun, Luk Dim Boon Gwan, Look Dim Boon Gwun, etc.

The Luk Dim Boon Gwun form uses a 8-12 foot wooden staff. However, please be aware that the movements used in this form can vary greatly between Wing Chun schools (as some instructors try to expand the techniques included in this simple form).

The benefits of learning the Luk Dim Boon Gwun form include practicing some basic staff techniques, strengthening your arms, shoulders and legs (given the weight of the pole and use of the horse stance during the form), etc.

For other forms, please visit the main Wing Chun Forms section. If you are looking for forms from other martial arts styles (i.e. the kata of Shotokan Karate), please visit Black Belt Wiki’s main Kata & Forms section.
