Mouth of Hand – Krav Maga

This page provides details for the Krav Maga “Mouth of Hand” strike. This Krav Maga strike is basically an upwards hammer fist where the martial artists hits an opponent with the top of their fist (where the thumb and forefinger meet). The martial artist is not hitting with their knuckles or the bottom portion of the hand (as in the regular hammer fist) or the back of the fist (as in the back fist strike). The mouth of hand strike is used to hit targets such as an opponent’s chin. However, this strike is seen as less effective than a standard Krav Maga upper cut. For information on other Krav Maga techniques (i.e. kicks, punches and grappling), please visit Black Belt Wiki’s main Krav Maga Techniques section.
