Sansetsukon No Kata – Martial Arts Weapon Kata
This page provides details on the Sansetsukon No Kata. The Sansetsukon or “Three Section Staff” is a Japanese and Okinawan weapon. In China, it is known as a San Jie Gun. The staff is made up of 3 equally-sized sections (approx. 3 feet), joined by a string, chain, or 5 metal rings. There are not many formal katas for the Sansetsukon. However, it is a very common weapon in many Chinese martial arts movies.
